Timings vary depending on the size and complexity of the print. For a standard A5 the drawing and carving process takes anywhere from 7-24 hours. Larger prints take days to complete as the designs tend to be more complex.
Yes — all my lino prints are original, hand-pulled prints made from my own carved blocks. Even if I print the same design more than once, each one has small variations that make it unique.
I do! Every step — from the carving to the inking and printing — happens in my studio. I use a traditional relief press for most prints, but sometimes I hand burnish them too. It’s a very hands-on process, and I like it that way.
Yes — I do everything from sketching and carving to inking and printing. I don’t outsource any part of the process.
An original lino print is made by physically carving a design into lino, rolling it with ink, and pressing it onto paper. A digital copy is a scan or photo of that print, which can be reprinted endlessly — but it loses the texture and detail of the real thing. All the prints I sell are the real, hand-printed kind.
Because every print is made by hand, small variations in ink and pressure are normal — that’s what makes each one unique
